We spent another snowless weekend in Bear Valley and this was taken 2 weeks ago. Finally the snow storm came and we got plenty of snow. Yes, we can ski now! We will take a break from climbing in BV for a while.
Bear Valley at 7000 feet elevation is 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco and about 2.5 hours from our weekday launch point of Pleasanton. Normally a cross-country and downhill ski destination, this years’ dearth of snow left the rocks exposed for climbing.
